Artist Of The Week - Anchor & Braille

It's been about three years since we've gotten an album from Anchor & Braille, the indie side project of Anberlin's Stephen Christian, but this week, on July 31st, the band's sophomore album will be released. The Quiet Life is a collection of haunting melodies and catchy percussion, certainly a maturation of sound since 2009's Felt. The Quiet Life is available now in stores and online through Tooth & Nail Records.

Artist: Jaymes Reunion
Album: Everything You've Been Looking For
Release Date: 4/20/10
Label: BEC Recordings

After having multiple setbacks and such, Jaymes Reunion bring us their long awaited debut album, Everything You've Been Looking For. The album contains a nice batch of pop rock tunes, which show frontman Jaymes Cameron's knack for songwriting. Full of catchy pop rock tracks and some ballads, the album hits off nicely for Jaymes Reunion.

The opening sounds of "More Than A Day" may lead listeners to expect of typical pop rock album, but songs like "Trouble" and "Fine" may convince them differently. Some favorites off the album come with the ballads "Loveliest Thing" and "My Song," the closing tracks. By far some of the catchiest on the album, "Loveliest Thing" tells a great love story, while the latter builds up to a great pop rocker to close the album. Well not a completely perfect album, Jaymes Reunion have got off to a good start with their debut.

Rating: 8/10 The wait is finally over for Jaymes Reunion's debut album Everything You've Been Looking For. It certainly show's the band's ability to perform catchy pop rock tunes. It was worth the wait for sure.
